TIMES BAJAWA, JAKARTA – As the Hajj 2024 pilgrimage draws near, Widi Dwinanda, a representative from the Media Center at the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, has issued an important reminder to Indonesian pilgrims regarding the lontar jumrah ritual.

She emphasized the critical need for adherence to the specified schedule to ensure a safe and orderly experience for all participants.

Widi highlighted that the Saudi Arabian government has implemented these schedules to manage the large number of pilgrims and prevent dangerous overcrowding. The Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) has meticulously planned the schedule for Indonesian pilgrims, considering the logistics and safety measures required for such a massive event.

"The lontar jumrah ritual is a pivotal part of the Hajj, and it is imperative that our pilgrims follow the set times," Widi stated. "Non-compliance could lead to severe overcrowding and potential accidents, which we must avoid to ensure everyone's safety."

She outlined the detailed schedule for the lontar jumrah, urging pilgrims to strictly observe these times. The ritual involves throwing seven pebbles at each of the three designated pillars: Ula, Wustha, and Aqabah, in a precise manner to ensure the pebbles land within the designated area.

Widi also mentioned the preparatory steps before the ritual, such as spending the night in Muzdalifah and performing Tahallul Awal, which includes shaving the head for male pilgrims and cutting a small portion of hair for female pilgrims. This allows them to change from ihram garments into regular clothes.

"Adhering to these schedules is not just about following rules; it is about preserving the sanctity and safety of the Hajj experience," Widi added. She expressed confidence that Indonesian pilgrims would respect the guidelines and contribute to a smooth and meaningful pilgrimage.

Widi's message to the pilgrims is clear: compliance with the jumrah schedule is essential for a successful and safe Hajj 2024 journey. The careful planning by the PPIH and the cooperation of the pilgrims will ensure that the spiritual significance of the Hajj is upheld while maintaining the well-being of all participants. (*)
